About Easter: dates and questions
Easter Sunday moves from year to year. In Western churches it falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the spring equinox (fixed as March 21 for this purpose), so it can land anywhere from March 22 to April 25.
The countdown works out the date automatically, so it’s always counting down to the next Easter. Orthodox churches often celebrate on a later date.
