Tips and questions

Tips

  • Pick the due date and leave the time empty. It counts down to the start of that day wherever each person is.
  • Due dates move. If yours changes, make a new countdown and share the new link; the old one keeps its date.
  • Think about what goes in the message. Anyone with the link can read it, so leave out a name or anything you’re not sharing yet.
  • Share it with grandparents-to-be: they can add it to their calendar, or add the page to their phone’s home screen to check in on it.
  • Planning a baby shower? Make a second countdown for it, with the time and address, so guests can add it to their calendars.

Common questions

Should I add a time to the due date?

There's no need. Leave the time empty and it counts down to the start of the due date in each person's own time zone.

What if the baby comes early or late?

The countdown always shows the date you picked. Once your baby is here, you can make a new one with the birth date: dates that have passed count up, showing how old your baby is.

Is the countdown private?

It isn't listed anywhere or saved on a server, so only people you send the link to can find it. Anyone with the link can read everything in it, so share it with people you'd tell anyway.
