Tips and questions
Tips
- Enter the date of birth, not this year’s date. It counts down to the next birthday and shows which one it is, like “30th”.
- One link works every year. After the day, it moves on to the next birthday by itself, so there’s nothing to update.
- Add it to your calendar and it repeats every year (with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook’s .ics file; Outlook.com adds just the next one).
- Having a party? Make a separate countdown for it with the time and address, so guests can add it to their calendars.
- Counting down to someone else’s birthday? Change the message, like “Mom’s birthday”, and send them the link.
Common questions
Do I need to make a new countdown every year?
No. It always counts down to the next birthday, and moves on to the following one by itself the day after.
Why does it ask for the date of birth?
So it can show which birthday is coming up, like "31st". The countdown itself is always to the next one.
What about a February 29 birthday?
In years without a February 29, it counts down to February 28.
Or counting down to a wedding, a new baby or retirement?
